  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Pre-accident Roberto/Burbuja. Was he being a Jerkass because of what he had been doing at his job, or did he just behave that way because he wanted to protect his girlfriend and wanted to keep her away from danger?
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Burbuja has become one of the favourites of the audience.
  • Funny Moments: Ramiro, Julián and Gamboa dressed as the Three Wise Men. Gamboa's face is darkened, as he is Balthasar.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Piti is trying to find a cabin so that Vilma can live there with him, but the only free one is Cabin No. 31, which several years before had held the infirmary and, after a Spanish Flu break appeared, all ill people were bricked in to prevent a epidemic. Piti gets his friends to give him a hand in cleaning and takes care of the rest... and the end result is a wonderful room (painted in black, unfortunately, but he takes advantage of it and puts several silver stars on the wall) that leaves Vilma impressed... and wanting to reward Piti for the effort. Unfortunately, when Piti tells Vilma the truth, she is less than impressed. In the end, the two of them start sleeping together in the room.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Imagine that you are on a ship with a group of strangers and suddenly you are told nearly everything you know has disappeared. Including your family, your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse and your friends. Sweet dreams.
  • Shipping:
    • When the series had hardly started there were already two "official couples", Ricardo/Julia and Ulises/Ainhoa. There was also some teasing for several other couples. Taking off afterwards were: Ramiro/Estela, Piti/Vilma, Andrés/Vilma, Gamboa/Ainhoa...
    • Piti/Vilma went really strong, Andrés still liked Vilma but knew he didn't have many chances and Gamboa/Ainhoa was clearly not happening.
    • Piti/Vilma was then sunk too, as Piti's behaviour made it impossible for Vilma to stand it anymore. Andrés/Vilma then followed, as Andrés chose to continue as a priest.
    • In season 3, we finally got serious with Ricardo/Julia; seems that Piti is going to hook up with Sol and Vilma with the Korean man they have found.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • When the experiment at the LHC starts and everyone on land starts to die.
    • The radio transmissions from the planes, stating how all land seems to have disappeared all of a sudden, ending with the crash of the plane where the black box was taken from.
    • Ricardo, Julián and Piti on the hold, preparing themselves to die in order to save the rest of the ship after saying goodbye to their beloved ones in the ship (Ainhoa for Ricardo, Salomé for Julián).
    • Ricardo and Ramiro whenever they trust Gamboa. Gamboa should have been jailed a long time ago, really.
  • The Woobie: Piti feels like this, because he has never found a girl that likes him for what he is, and hides behind his buffoonish face to deal with that.
