YMMV / DuckTales (2017) S1 E1 "Woo-oo!"

Go To

  • Fanon: Some fans thought the dog interviewee and/or the reporter at the pier was a grown up Roxanne, but this was disproven by "Quack Pack!", in which Roxanne appears on a photo with a different design.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: So many thanks to "The Last Crash of the Sunchaser".
    • Donald tells Scrooge in this episode, "I can't remember all your sworn enemies!" in the middle of Casual Danger Dialogue as Glomgold makes his move. "The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck" reveals how Scrooge himself has a lot of sworn enemies, partly due to his ambition and Innocently Insensitive nature.
    • Scrooge disdainfully listening to his Board members about cutting funding to experimental tech and exploration given they had forcefully stopped him from bankrupting the company to find Della, recently.
    • "Beakley said you'd watch the boys. Can you do that without losing them?"
    • "I was not responsible for the Spear of Selene!" Technically Scrooge wasn't completely responsible, but it doesn't matter to Donald, or the boys when they find out that Scrooge enabled their mother to travel into space.
    • The line "No one tell your Uncle Donald!". As "The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!" reveals, not leaving Donald in the dark could've resolved a lot of family problems for Scrooge.
    • Likewise, when we realize that Donald blames Scrooge for Della's disappearance, he's not the only twin to do so. Magica's spell accidentally hit her twin brother Poe with a spell that Scrooge deflected with his dime, turning him into a nonsapient crow that flew out of the DeSpell manor. She begged Scrooge to stop Poe from escaping, and he callously dismissed her. Scrooge has a bad track record when it comes to twins, doesn't he?
    • From "The Last Adventure!" the idea that Mrs. Beakley kept Webby indoors the entire time is probably because she was afraid of the truth coming out that she'd rescued Webby from FOWL or of them finding her.
  • Tough Act to Follow: The pilot ended up being one to the rest of the first season. "Woo-oo" was critically lauded and beloved by new and old DuckTales fans alike for giving all of its ensemble cast a time to shine and teasing the Myth Arc about Della Duck. When the rest of the season began, many of the same people initially won over began to criticize the show for its alleged Arc Fatigue regarding the lack of progress in the Della subplot.
  • Unexpected Character: Not even the most seasoned duck fan could have expected Della Duck, Donald's twin sister and the triplets' mother, to be important to the revival.
