• Harsher in Hindsight: The one-off gag about Goku getting punched in the groin hard enough to erase Goten from existence becomes a lot more prescient in light of DBZA's cancellation prior to the Buu Saga, which effectively means that Goten indeed never got to Dragon Ball Z Abridged proper. Dragon ShortZ mitigates this, however.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Android 13 sort of looks like Leone Abacchio from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind— and Mick Lauer, 13's voice actor, would go on to provide the official English voice for Leone.
• Special Effect Failure: In the opening sequence, you can easily differentiate between the anime and movie footage by comparing the shading between the androids.
