YMMV / Doctor Who S21 E5 "Planet of Fire"

• Best Known for the Fanservice: If you're attracted to girls, Peri in a bikini will more than likely stick with you. For those into guys, there's Turlough taking off his tight short-shorts and wearing a wet shirt and speedos. Also Howard, who is an extremely well-built professor who spends all his screen-time (as himself, not Kamelion) wearing nothing above the waist but an ascot.
• Epileptic Trees: Peri's mumbling in her sleep "No, Howard", led to a whole mass of fans believing that she was being molested by her stepfather.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Not only is there mention of a "Fire Lord", one of the characters is even named Zuko.
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Turlough telling Peri to look after the Doctor ends up being meaningful once she had to deal with the rough relationship of his successor.
  • You have to feel sorry for Peri's poor unseen mother. Her daughter vanishes, with her husband being the last person to see her alive, which is bound to cause suspicion and tension in their marriage. And though we don't know it yet, she would never see Peri again. (Big Finish makes it even worse. It did ruin her marriage, she does see Peri again, and it gets her and some of their friends killed. No wonder poor Peri never went home - she couldn't.)
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Ironically, in his second (and final) serial, the showrunners finally work out a way to use Kamelion, despite the essential uselessness of his over-complicated and inefficient prop - simply remember that the android is a Shapeshifter and have him transform into other people! Why they didn't do this before is completely unknown.
