YMMV / Displaced (The Legend of Zelda)

• I Knew It!: This fic somehow predicts that Link and Zelda end up cohabiting in Hateno, as well as the fact that the Hateno house retains a single bed, two elements which show up in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
• Nightmare Fuel: The Yiga are this in universe. Their talents of disguise and stealth rival the Sheikah, they have no scruples about hurting innocents to get at their targets, and they want to destroy Hyrule utterly. Zelda and Link are forced to go on the run multiple times just from the speculation that Yiga may already be aware of their location, and at one point a Yiga footsoldier succeeds in infiltrating Zelda's room in Gerudo town while she sleeps (and Link is absent) and stealing the Sheikah slate.
• Paranoia Fuel: Zelda and Link find evidence that the Yiga clan has been spying on some of their activities that they thought they had kept hidden. Of course, both of them were completely unaware of Yiga clansmen being present at any of these events because they can look like anyone or anything they want.
• Tear Jerker: Zelda's breakdowns are frequently painful to witness, especially when they are fueled more by her grief at her perceived failings than her memories of being locked in battle with a force of pure evil for a full century.
  • Of particular note is Zelda's episode as the pilot of Vah Naboris, which had absorbed some of the memories and personality traits of its former pilot, Urbosa. When she is finally pulled out of a deep trance communing with the Divine Beast, Zelda is struck by the grief of losing her best friend/mother figure all at once and completely breaks down in Amali's arms.
