YMMV / Dekugate

  • Catharsis Factor: The last chapter has Nitta Mari getting a well-deserved scolding from her beloved idol to the point that she's in tears over being exposed and dragged by the man she dedicated her entire existence to. The cherry on top is that Inko recorded the whole thing, along with Nitta's confessions, so there's a good chance she or her Dekugate compatriots will be getting jailtime.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Chapter 8-9 involves the Nabu community evacuating due to an upcoming typhoon and then goes into detail over the extreme dangers of a person making their way through a storm along with potential casualties. The last chapter was released as Hurricane Ian was making its way through the east coast of North America in 2022.
  • Love to Hate: Nitta Mari is a snobby fan-woman who's entitled personality and twisted attitude towards Izuku and Inko make fans want to praise her for her effective writing and throttle her with their bare hands.
  • Paranoia Fuel: Izuku learns that there's an online community who hates him just for being associated with his father and have created decades long theories that twist him into a parasitic puppet for the Hero Commission to control. It's unsettling for him to discover so many people view him with scorn, have hated him since before he was born, and are constantly watching him hoping to use or twist anything he says or does to fit their own propaganda.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: Even while knowing about the story's grim premise, the fandom adored the happy family content between the Mighty Family during the first chapter and how utterly adorable Toshinori and Inko are as a Happily Married couple.
  • The Woobie: Izuku suffers alot with his discoveries. Despite being born and raised by two of the best parents in the world, he learns that there are thousands of people who hate him just for existing and are constantly looking for new ways to discredit him as a hero and son of All Might. It's even more unsettling as those haters are very active and constantly watching over him, either in person or on social media.
