• The Woobie: Childe/Ajax prior to him traveling back in time before he fell into the Abyss that fateful day. First, Teucer is murdered and his body is discovered where Ajax had fallen into the Abyss the first time, his neck cleanly snapped. Not even a year later, he loses his parents and older siblings to a house fire in which his younger siblings Anton and Tonia were the only survivors for some reason. And the final blow? His only family left were murdered on a simple shopping trip, the horses spooked which resulted in their carriage crashing and his siblings deaths. The loss of his only remaining family drives Childe insane with grief and he becomes a literal and metaphorical monster who ends up slaughtering an entire village before Aether and Zhongli arrive to stop him. His death at Zhongli's hands was essentially a mercy killing in the face of so much tragedy that happened in a short amount of time. And even then, having to kill Childe kicked off Zhongli's own Despair Event Horizon and his Erosion.
