- Alternative Character Interpretation: Rae having sex with Hughie. Did she only do it to get him to lower his guard? Did she enjoy it? Both? Did she think John was dead and she passed the Despair Event Horizon?
- Awesome Music: The entire damn soundtrack by Graeme Revell, building half of the tension with very characteristic beats and violin sections.
- Best Known for the Fanservice: Nicole Kidman's nude scene in the sex scene. It is probably the only scene you can easily find in net from the whole movie.
- It Was His Sled: The movie have been spoofed and parodied so many times, everyone who ever heard the title alone will be able to tell that Billy Zane plays a psycho killer. This completely destroys the mood in the first part of the story.
