Many people have to remind themselves that David himself isn't Irish because of how popular he is there, and he jokes that the Irish have more or less adopted him.
• Growing the Beard: White Ladder was his biggest breakthrough, and also when his musical style started to really cement itself. He grew an actual beard several years later.
