- Overshadowed by Controversy: Deathmate is only really remembered as the comic that "killed" Valiant Comics, contributing to the comic industry crash, and for all the behind the scenes troubles it wrought, to the point that you'll be hard-pressed to find any information online about the actual plot of the comic.
- Padding: Given the fact that is the end of two universes is about to happen, it is easy to feel the stories focusing on Toyo Harada are this.
