  • Award-Bait Song: "End of the Road" was originally recorded for the soundtrack to the film Boomerang (1992). Though it wasn't nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song (It probably would've lost to "A Whole New World" anyway—not even Whitney Houston could beat them with two songs from The Bodyguard), it did win two Grammys at the 35th Grammy Awards.
    • "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" would not have been eligible with Lethal Weapon 3 anyway, being a cover. Ditto for "In the Still of the Nite (I'll Remember)", and the Emmy awards.
  • Covered Up: the group's renditions of "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" and "In the Still of the Night (I'll Remember)" are unquestionably more well-remembered and successful than the original recordings of either song; to the point where their versions are frequently used as the basis for other artists' covers.
  • Memetic Mutation: While the term "simp"/"symp" existed long before the group, "Sympin'" undeniably popularized its modern definition, especially in the 2010s.
