- I Knew It!: When it was first made clear Megatron wasn't among the Autobots and Decepticons at the start of Transformers (2023) one of the biggest theories was that he was in the possession of Cobra Commander. Cobra Commander Issue #1 confirms indeed that is the case.
- Unexpected Character: Cobra-La being the basis for Cobra Commander's backstory came as a shock to many, as the hidden society is one of the more maligned and ignored aspects of the G.I. Joe brand. In fact, Cobra-La was included because of their bad reputation and ridiculous concept.
