• Arc Fatigue:
  • The "Riko goes Sleepwalking" arc is considered to be too long, especially for a monthly manga. The story almost takes up an entire volume, leaving only one or two unrelated chapters. People kept on reading for Tatewaku, though.
• Epileptic Trees: Many people in the fandom have decided that Makabe's unseen wife is probably Nichijou's Yuko Aioi. Mrs. Makabe's exploits around the world are similar in spirit to what Yuko ends up doing throughout a decade after Nichijou, and people also point out that the "Sweet Olive" in Sweet Olive Manor sounds an awful lot like a pun on Aioi in Japanese.
