YMMV / Cartoons in Danganronpa

Go To

Due to the series' nature as a Danganronpa fan work, all spoilers will be unmarked ahead. You Have Been Warned!

  • Adorkable: Dipper geeking out over Jenny being a robot and Jenny sheepishly admitting to being flattered by it.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Everyone's reactions to their hostages? Sad and horrifying. The fact that Gaz's hostage is her Game Slave and she's still just as upset about it as the others who had real people? Hilarious.
  • Epileptic Trees: The prologue video's comment section was full of guesses on who is going to die and who the mastermind is. Users have also made plenty of videos about said guesses.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • After Monokuma tortures him, Morty and Mabel rush Dipper to the nurse's office as fast as they can.
    • Jenny reassuring Blossom that she shouldn't blame herself over Buttercup's anger over not having a talent and promising that her and Bubbles will help her come up with a plan to help everyone escape. Blossom, for her part, thanks Jenny and tells her that she's a big softie, which leaves Jenny blushing.
    • Jenny admitting to Star that, while she does find her kind of annoying, she does see her as a friend.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Everyone's reactions to their hostages. They are all crushed to see their friends, family or pets being held captive and at risk of dying if they don't kill someone else.
    • The reasons why Buttercup and Edd aren't with their respective groups are rather upsetting.
      • Since the Powerpuff Girls naturally had an advantage due to being genetically engineered superhumans, Membrane only gave them their talents based on skills that didn't come from their superpowers, which Buttercup simply didn't have. Once she learned about this, she refused to speak to the other girls until the lead-up to the girls' first day.
      • Eddy explains that once the Eds got into Hope's Peak, Edd suddenly just stopped wanting to hang out with Eddy and Ed, to the point where he didn't even show up for the last scam the group agreed to do, saying he "didn't want to taint his reputation" any further by hanging out with the other Eds. Eddy acts like he doesn't care, but it's clear that he was hurt by Edd's words.
    • Jenny and Star's conversation, since not only does it imply they were very close friends before the memory wipe, but it's possible that Jenny was the last person to see Star alive before she was murdered, hinting she's gonna fall under suspicion for the murder of her friend.
