• Les Yay: Mainly due to its run becoming popular around the time Xena: Warrior Princess was still on the air, but usually as a fan joke. Meow being treated as the equivalent of shudo of course...she does appreciate pretty girls, which might be one of the reasons she keeps following Ran.
• Tear Jerker: Everything about Mei's death; Firstly, it comes at the end of a very sad Motive Rant. Then as she's dying in Meows arms. Mei contemplates that dying in the arms of a friend is probably a better way to die than she deserves, and finally, when Meow asks Ran if they could have done anything if they had gotten to Mei sooner, Ran replies that they got to her just in time. The whole scene ends on Meow giving an anguished Death Wail.
