  • Epic Riff: "Famous Prophets'" bassline for the first part, "Vincent", "My Boy", and "Bodys", the latter of which has an epic drum beat too.
  • Heartwarming Moments: When it's not being a Tear Jerker (see below), Twin Fantasy is this. "Sober to Death" has an outro that drives the point even further home by repeating the words ad nauseum. "Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more" indeed.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Basically multiple jokes about Will being a furry due to Twin Fantasy.
    • The album cover of Twin Fantasy, due to how bizarre it is.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • The backing music of the monologue given by Hojin Stella Jung at the end of "High to Death" on the remake of Twin Fantasy is a slightly unnerving randomized loop that gives a vibe similar to the more experimental songs of The Beatles such as the end of A Day in the Life.
      • It also shows the influence of Frank Ocean on the remake since most people point out that it is also similar to the ending of the first half of his song "Futura Free", the closer of his 2016 album Blonde which features a bleepdown similar to this.
    • "Drunk on a Work Night" from the outtakes album Disjecta membra is a terrifying drunken rant that explains what happens when you go out with drunk friends and hang out with someone who has been taking meth all the time, all set to a really unsettling drone piece made out of ear-piercing guitar feedback and barely audible Noise Rock drumming.
  • Popular with Furries: Especially Twin Fantasy, in part due to (albeit obscure) lyrical references to Will's involvement with the fandom. Also just look at the album art.
  • Remade and Improved: The original 2011 version of Twin Fantasy was long upheld as an indie rock classic, but its 2018 re-recording, Twin Fantasy (Face to Face), was widely praised as a massive improvement upon the original thanks to it fleshing out a lot of ideas that Will Toledo considered underdeveloped the first time around.
  • Tear Jerker: Twin Fantasy in spades. "Famous Prophets" in particular has some heartwrenching lyrics, such as:
"Apologies to future mes and yous
But I can't help feeling like we're through
The ripping of the tape hurts my ears"
In my years, I have never seen anyone quit quite like you do".
  • Tough Act to Follow: General responses that anything after Twin Fantasy doesn't compare to it, although Teens of Denial is a close second due to being very different.
