YMMV / Cap Revolution Bottleman

Go To

  • Do Not Do This Cool Thing: In an effort to prevent children from firing high speed bottle caps at each other, one of Ryo's bodyguards calls out Cota for aiming his bottleman's shot at Ryo.
  • Misaimed Merchandising: Despite promoting the premise of environmental conservation by recycling used bottles instead of using more plastic, the toyline still sells bottle caps and bottles that serve no purpose aside from being used with the toys. Of course, they do encourage the use of regular bottle caps and bottles, and it still has a positive impact since toys last far longer than single-use containers and are less likely to be thrown away.
  • Older Than They Think: The use of bottle caps may seem an odd direction after B-Daman spent nearly 30 years using marbles, but the specific marble used in B-Daman figures was the same exact size as the ones used in Ramune bottles. The concept of "harvesting" caps that the series promotes is at least partly inspired by the fact that in Japan, children would remove the marbles from Ramune bottles to use with their B-Daman.
  • Spiritual Successor: To the B-Daman franchise. In fact, this is the exact goal TakaraTomy intended - the relatively poor sales of B Daman Cross Fire led to a redesign and rebranding. This even included an Intra-Franchise Crossover, with Cobalt Blade and Wild Wyvern being redesigned as Bottleman figures.
