While yes he did cross the MoralEventHorizon by killing Swan in cold blood and further compounds the problem by killing the rest of the party and trying to kill Packer however it’s difficult to not feel ''some'' sympathy for him considering he gets his leg caught in a bear trap early on in the film and still tries to remain upbeat for everyone else despite receiving no medical attention! He only starts to lose it once his leg becomes [[BodyHorror horribly infected]]. Even worse is the fact that no matter how many times Packer ''tries'' to kill him he [[AndIMustScream cannot die!]]. That’s enough to make anyone sympathetic...
