- It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: Avoiding this trope is the reason why the prologue had to be rewritten, since its original version involved Chloe getting angry at everyone and running away from home, which was how Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail started.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The entire subplot of Dawn having feelings for Ash, she meeting up with Chloe and the fact that she's associated with Tobias and his Darkrai becomes this when it's revealed that Journeys Episode 74 is a one-hour special that has Ash and Chloe meet with Dawn and then having to stop Team Rocket's plans involving Darkrai and Cresselia.
- Unexpected Character:
- Chloe's first Summoning Charm, Saludos Caballeros letting her summon the Three Caballeros is a surprise, but then it's revealed that it's the Legend of the Three Caballeros iteration, meaning it's Donald, Jose, Panchito and Xandra that she can summon!
- Chapter 8 brings out an unexpected world in that of the MCU when Chloe, Tokio, Parker and Yamper enter WestView and then drops in Peter Maximoff from the X-Men series as a cherry on top.
