* IdiotPlot: If Sleet Mountain in general had done a better background check on Clyde, he'd never have been CEO. If Ashley had quit right away, she would never have been blackmailed into becoming an accessory to murder. (If she hadn't had an affair, it would have been harder for Clyde to blackmail her in the first place.) If Chris weren't blinded by his greed, he would've turned against Clyde ''before'' throwing friends under the bus. If he weren't such a moron, he would not have betrayed Angelica to Clyde's depraved sex ring shortly after she'd helped him carry out a murder. And wouldn't have to rescue her from repeated rape and torture to redeem himself for what he did to her. Had he [[PoorCommunicationKills communicated with George and Kyle better]], they would not have mistaken Aaron for Mark. Which would have resulted in Clyde never ordering a hit on Aaron after it was revealed that Aaron was now aware of the plan.
** Had [[PoliceAreUseless the police bothered]] to be even remotely curious, especially when Aaron arrived with increasingly massive amounts of evidence of foul play going on, then Aaron and Monica may have been able to conduct their research without fear of being captured by thugs.
** Had Aaron gone straight to the EPA with his findings and his story, instead of getting Monica involved, then he might have been able to pull off Mark's original plan. He wasn't any less knowledgeable of anything at that point than Mark was. He would also have avoided the need to get Monica involved in anything, so her plot in the story would have been non-existent.
** Had Aaron considered that telling a Sleet Mountain employee he was going to the university, even a friend, [[WhatAnIdiot was a bad idea]], especially given all the security that surely had to be there at the factory; then he would have said he was going to "think over" where he was going. Again, that would keep him from leading the villains straight to Monica.
** Had Monica insisted on them finding some place else to work if there were kidnappings involved, or [[PoorCommunicationKills explained anything to Monica in detail]], then they would not have stayed at the university long enough to be easy targets. As it is, they stayed in one spot long enough for Sleet Mountain thugs to find them. [[PlotHole It's a stretch]] to think that Kyle could have learned exactly ''which room'' in the university Aaron told Chris he would be at, since Aaron never divulges that detail.
** Had George been willing to contain a little bit more of his bloodthirst, Kyle [[WhyDontYouJustShootHim would have shot Aaron]] before he had a chance to escape.
** Speaking of that, George and Kyle had Aaron tied up. But they didn't think to check his pockets, where they'd have found his wallet and been able to figure out that they'd grabbed Aaron instead of Mark. Which would have resulted in a phone call to Chris to clear up the mistake, and possibly resulted in Aaron being dropped off somewhere rather than the need to kill him outright.

* TheyJustDidntCare: All phones use the exact same sound effect. Also a reason the Dozerfleet edits had to remove so many details in certain shots to avoid trademark infringements.

* AccidentalAesop: The teacher wanted to movie's core message to be that [[GreenAesop pollution]] [[AndThatsTerrible is evil]]. But the pond pollution subplot was so overshadowed by all the kidnappings, car chases, and attempted murders, that it instead became: Don't bother taking a job for a guy who's willing to lie about pollution to save a little money. Because the minute you do, [[SpaceWhaleAesop some unseen force in the universe]] will make it inevitable that you will JumpOffTheSlipperySlope and commit murders at the drop of a hat.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: The proposed remakes would make Ashley Phillips not only a much bigger role, but would make her more sympathetic. In the mini-series, she's little more than a ruse to get Mark to open the door, and appears to be as greedy as everyone else. In proposals for the remake, she's actually a sweet girl who [[InLoveWithTheMark had a crush on]] [[StealthPun Mark]]. However, Clyde has George and Kyle break into her house and snoop through her personal files. When they discover that she'd been hiding her past affair with a seminary student from her family, Clyde uses that information to blackmail her. She goes over to Mark's apartment, convinced it's merely to [[HoneyTrap bribe him into]] not ratting out the company - or steal the Confidential folder while Mark slept in her arms. Chris sneaking in and murdering Mark while he and Ashley were busy fornicating was not specified to her.
** Chris then blackmails her ''again'' - into helping dispose of the body. He then takes her to Clyde - who has other men take her hostage. It is implied that Clyde keeps her alive [[ThePeepingTom solely so he can watch videos]] of her captors [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil coercing her into sleep with them]].
** Shortly after murdering George and Kyle, Chris uses stealth to rescue Ashley. But only insofar as to let her escape and give testimony to the police. After that, he flees the scene, since he's determined not to go to jail. This makes him ''slightly'' less of a DirtyCoward than portrayed in the miniseries.

* HoYay: What actors Chris and Zach thought of Nathan's mandatory reshoots for Parts 2 and 5. In Zach's own words, Mark was supposed to be the "worldly" twin whereas Aaron was the slightly "[[YouKeepUsingThatWord homophobic]]" twin. But the reshoots made Aaron look and sound "slightly gay," to say nothing for how Chris [[NoYay felt about it]]. But since Nathan was the resident HippieTeacher, there was no arguing with him one of the few times he actually bothered to make a demand. Nathan originally complained that (character) Chris was initially going to seem "[[ItsAllAboutMe too cold-blooded]]."
