* SugarWiki/NoProblemWithLicensedGames: ''Blacksad: Under The Skin'' is a strong adventure game with excellent voice acting, simple but good puzzles, and spot-on portrayals of the characters. It’s only real flaws are it’s fondness for quick-time events and sometimes long loading times.

** With Webcomic/{{Lackadaisy}}, a [[TheRoaringTwenties Prohibition-era]] comics where everyone is a fluffy cat. Both also have a black cat as one of the main characters.
** Has minor one with {{WesternAnimation/Zootopia}}.
* GeniusBonus: When explaining why his son couldn't possibly be a child's father in a phony blackmail case, one white tiger businessman in ''Arctic Nation'' points out that he's severely mentally retarded, which Blacksad attributes to inbreeding. Said son is a cheetah, and in real life, cheetahs ''are'' deeply inbred (due to a natural near-extinction event which reduced the population long ago). (Unfortunately, this renders Blacksad's "sometimes mixing isn't such a bad thing" racism metaphor a non-sequitur BrokenAesop, since that would indicate that even if he is married to someone within the same town's gene pool, it's not to another white animal.)

* UnintentionalUncannyValley: A subtle variation that becomes hard to ignore once you notice it. For the most part, the characters look great... but they all seem to lack tails, despite being fully anthro animals. If you're used to other WorldOfFunnyAnimals settings that have said animals sporting tails, it can come as a shock when ''Blacksad'' has theirs being InexplicablyTailless. Made even more awkward by Huk, the arctic fox from the second book, being the only character to inexplicably ''have'' a tail.

* TearJerker:
** Somewhere Within the Shadows: A bonus pic shows Blacksad sitting glumly in the Cypher Club, unaware that Natalia's ghost has her arms around him.
** Arctic Nation: As Blacksad sums up to Jezabel, yes, she got revenge on her father but her sister is dead and her niece is now an orphan.
** Red Soul: John's biggest chance at happiness, ruined by a corrupt senator.
** A Silent Hell: Sebastian dies without ever getting to meet his newborn son and the last time he ever saw Hannah, he yelled at her for telling Faust about "Pizen Blues".
** Amarillo: Neal's death, especially since Blacksad had come to see him as friend just like with Weekly and Neal commenting on how he could've had something with Donna.

* NightmareFuel: The trip that Blacksad has when he nearly drowns in ''A Silent Hell'', where he sees anthropomorphic animals dissected in what looks like a slaughterhouse.
* Logan nearly burning the face off of a union worker in ''They All Fall Down - Part One'' for daring to stand up against the don of the local mafia family. Even when he's forced to let go, he does so with a sadistic glee, leaving the poor man to clutch his smoldering face. Later, he nearly stabs Kenneth to death at a subway station. Blacksad is quick enough to stop him, but not quick enough to stop ''another'' hitman from pushing Kenneth into an oncoming train. Not a single drop of blood is shown, but the bystanders' reactions say it all.

** ''They All Fall Down - Part One'': Logan, the hitman for the mob running the transport workers union. Full stop. When one of the workers stands up to the mob boss, Logan grabs him by the nose and gleefully shoves his face into a pan of ''burning oil.'' He's so sadistic about it that even his own ''boss'' forces him to stop. Which he does. With a ''smile.''

* {{Narm}}: Blacksad ripping open [[spoiler:Jezebel's blouse to reveal the black patch on her chest]] was meant to be a DramaticReveal, but it seemingly came out of nowhere and the pure shock on her face made the initial moment into this.
