• Harsher in Hindsight: The Doctor missing Evelyn, and the whole episode being structured around Six meeting his bolshier younger self before her no-nonsense influence, became a little sadder a year after release, when Maggie Stables passed away for real and there would be no more Evelyn Smythe adventures. The last bit of Evelyn's signature chocolate cake suddenly feels a whole lot more significant.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The Sixth Doctor tells Mel that he doesn't want another Mel in the time to be referred as "Mel C" as he doesn't want to be confused with the Spice Girls ends up being more funny as The Giggle has the Toymaker doing a musical performance while dancing to "Spice Up Your Life". What's even funnier is that Mel Bush returns in that same episode.
