• Covered Up: Unusual example. Tim McGraw originally recorded "California" on his 2015 album Damn Country Music with Big & Rich on backing vocals. They released their own version two years later.
• Seasonal Rot: Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace is often considered their worst album.
• Sequel Displacement: As explosively huge as "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" was, it's easy to forget that the song was actually their second single.
• Tear Jerker:
  • "Holy Water" is a tribute to Big Kenny's sister, a victim of Domestic Abuse.
  • "8th of November" is a thoughtful, moving tribute to a soldier that the duo knows. The album version features a heartfelt spoken intro from Kris Kristofferson.
