YMMV / Better Call Saul S6 E11: "Breaking Bad"

Go To

  • Bellisario's Maxim:
    • Aaron Paul as Jesse both looks and sounds noticeably older than he did in the original episode, but most fans would probably be too excited to see him and Bryan Cranston return to care too much.
    • Similarly, it's very clearly noticeable that Bob Odenkirk has lost a lot of weight ever since first shooting the desert scene in Breaking Bad, but seeing the scene play out from his perspective rather than Walt and Jesse's makes this easy to ignore.
  • I Knew It!:
    • Upon the episode's title being announced as "Breaking Bad", many fans rightly suspected that this would be the episode to finally feature cameo appearances by Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul returning as Walter and Jesse.
    • It was a common fan theory that Mike was the P.I. Saul mentions hiring to track down Walter at the school he teaches, but never stated outright since Mike hadn't been introduced yet. This episode finally explicitly confirms that it was Mike.note  Although, throughout season 2 and 3 of Breaking Bad Saul consistently refers to Mike as "my P.I." and is never shown working with any other detectives, so based on the context it really wasn't a surprise.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Upon learning that Jeff and Buddy want to abandon their latest mark due to the fact that he has cancer, not only does Viktor decide to fire Buddy, but he insists on going back to his house and doing the job himself, with the last shot of the episode being him breaking in.
