YMMV / Bernard-M

Go To

  • Adorkable: He is unashamedly goofy in videos and interviews, and it's adorable.
  • Awesome Music:
    • "Adolescence" - both a powerful story of teen angst and an insanely catchy tune, with some nice jazz influences. It set the bar very high for subsequent Bernard M and COT collaborations.
    • The instrumental "Care Free" - a fun Future Funk track.
    • "Hold It" is a fun pop love song that may provoke one's instinct to start dancing.
    • And of course "Take it Out on Yourself" - the perfect anthem to open COMIX with. Unsurprisingly it acquired a thousand views within an hour of its release.
  • Heartwarming Moments: "Hold It" is pretty angst-free and Bernard just talking about how much he loves his girlfriend.
  • Narm Charm: As one reviewer put it, a song about literally freestyling in Corey's car, and they pulled it off pretty well.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Corey's sense of hopelessness in "Adolescence" can hit especially hard - he's conveyed his Dark and Troubled Past in other freestyles he's done solo - and while he's declaring that he'll not be like that anymore, one can still sense the hurt and pain.
"I'm sick of threats and I'm sick of death, and I'm sick of death threats."
    • The feeling in "Day Dream" of a young adult lamenting that childhood is a distant memory.
"I miss the days where I'd sit and wait for Noddy."
