While he didn't receive outright negative feedback about Pariah, he also didn't receive the enthusiastic response that the Eisenhorn and Ravenor books generated, leading him to worry whether he'd let the fans down. However, as the years went by, appreciation grew, with Abnett receiving increasing amounts of mail from fans eager for the next book.
