- Older Than They Think: Aside from the similarities to For the Man Who Has Everything noted on the main page, the core plot of this episode was done in 1991's Detective Comics #633. The main difference is that the comic is pretty much a thriller all the way through, with none of the episode's psychological introspection.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
- It's minor, but it's rather odd that Harvey Dent doesn't make an appearance in this episode. Given that he was one of Bruce Wayne's best friends before his FaceāHeel Turn and his transformation into Two-Face is one of Batman's most personal tragedies in this incarnation, it was a real missed opportunity not to show a non-scarred and mentally sound version of him as part of Bruce's dream world.
- It would've been interesting to see other, dream world idealized versions of Batman's rogue's gallery besides Catwoman. Perhaps Harvey Dent & Pamela Isley are a stable, normal married couple, liable to double date with Selina and Bruce, rather than hating each other's guts or pursuing revenge plots. Maybe Penguin is a respected member of high society, donating to charities left and right. The possibilities certainly provide loads of fun Fanfic Fuel to play around with.
