• Older Than They Think: The name of the Klan stand-in being the "White Legion" as a reference to Klan splinter group the Black Legion is hardly anything new. In 1938, an episode of The Shadow titled The White Legion aired with the difference being that the titular group was a loose-adaptation of the Black Legion rather than a stand-in of the group it had splintered off from. Given that the Shadow was an inspiration for the character of Batman, with the first comic bordering on outright plagiarism of a Shadow story, it is not unlikely that same episode inspired this story.
