• Adored by the Network: During its brief run on Disney Channel, there were plenty of bumpers promoting the show.
• Alternative Character Interpretation: It is possible that at least part of Cassandra's hatred of the Streets (as well as kicking both Sasha and Vanessa out of the Primas) could be rooted in racism. Look at the scenes of the Primas after Sasha is kicked out; all of the visible dancers are Caucasian, except for one seen in S1: E29. She also kicked Vanessa out of the Primas for having a life outside of dance, but does nothing to Carly, instead kicking out the boy who exposed her relationship.
• Jerkass Woobie: "Lose Yourself" drums up some serious pity for Bianca, showing how she's secretly afraid that she isn't good enough when she isn't being backed up by a professional lighting and makeup crew.
• Squick: When Vanessa lands her jump wrong during "Step, Sister", you physically hear her ankle break.
• Strawman Has a Point: It's pretty clear that the viewer isn't meant to agree with Principal Durani's stance against Julie in "Lose Yourself", but he is correct that Julie shouldn't have taken school property for her use without asking permission.
• Wangst: In contrast to the other students' Dark and Troubled Pasts, Sasha lamenting his thin figure comes across as pretty whiny.
