* JerksAreWorseThanVillains: The most hated character from the film is Baby's birth father, who is an abusive unloving alcoholic bastard who hits his wife and yells at Baby whenever he gets the chance just cause he can. [[AssholeVictim He also causes the car crash that got him and his wife killed and gave Baby his tinnitus]]. The villains of the film (both major and minor) are Doc, Griff, Buddy, Darling, Eddie No-Nose, JD, and Bats (and to extent, Doc's nephew Sam and the crew's main arms dealer The Butcher), all of whom are part of a criminal organization who have committed far more severe crimes than Baby's father can ever dream of committing, especially Bats (a mass-murdering trigger-happy psychopath who enjoys committing crimes both major and minor just for the hell of it and is implied to have killed a gas station attendant just so he wouldn't have to pay for the stuff he ordered, even nearly killing Debora for the same reason at the diner she works at had Baby not stopped him), and force Baby to be the wheelman for their crimes as a way to pay off a debt he owes to them. However, they are all very charismatic and entertaining to watch, even carrying an AffablyEvil (even Griff and, to an extent, Bats) and EvilIsCool vibe. This is especially true for Doc, Buddy and Darling, who are the nicest to Baby (especially the latter two). Besides, people in the audience are more likely to know an abusive alcoholic asshole than a group of armed robbers, let alone a murderous psychopath.

* DesignatedHero: For some people, Baby comes off as this. Make no mistake, Baby was clearly the least evil of Doc's henchmen, but he did steal cars and lead police on reckless chases several times in the film, not to mention he was involved in a criminal conspiracy that resulted in the murder of multiple US Government employees, state level felony murder charges (though mainly out of desperation and even then tried keep the people caught in the crossfire to a minimum), and at least one count of murder directly (though the guy that he killed [[AssholeVictim definitely deserved it]]). It's very questionable if he really deserved [[spoiler:to get parole after only five years served. * HarsherInHindsight: Doc's whole relationship with Baby becomes rather uncomfortable after the allegations of Creator/KevinSpacey sexually assaulting and exploiting young men came out only a couple weeks after the DVD release, which makes lines such as Baby growling "Not after what you did to me!" to Doc, Doc saying "That's my baby." and Doc's opening line explaining Baby's driving ability by saying that he didn't stop him from stealing his Mercedes because he [[AccidentalInnuendo "was just blinded by the balls on that kid"]] can be particularly wince-inducing. To quote the page, "Do not link to this on the wiki, please. Not even under the YMMV tab."

* SugarWiki/DevelopmentHeaven: Creator/EdgarWright wanted all the driving and stunts to be done with practical effects, rather than CGI. Also all the cars' license plates are release dates for his other films.

* WhyWouldAnyoneTakeHimBack: Some viewers may find Debora's unwavering devotion to Baby hard to believe, especially when he reveals himself to be involved with dangerous criminals and even [[spoiler:shoots someone right in front of her (notably, she has no strong reaction to this while her co-worker ''freaks the hell out'']]. And she's only known Baby for what seems like a few days; there's no reason for her to be invested in him enough to risk her own life.

"Idiot Plot" is now Flame Bait.

* IdiotPlot:
** Let's face it: with the mistakes he made, it's ''no wonder'' why Doc decided to kill JD.
** Also, Darling - unlike Buddy, she didn't bother to take cover when getting into a shoot-out with the cops and [[LeeroyJenkins just started firing at them.]] The fact she got gunned down in seconds is more due to her own stupidity than Baby crashing into the getaway car.
** No matter how pleasant the voices of Doc and his coworkers are, Baby recording their conversations for his mixtapes is incredibly stupid. Even if the crew didn't catch him, the police would have been able to implicate him in their crimes if they got a hold of the tapes.
** It would have been a good idea for Doc to mention to Bats, Darling, Buddy & Baby that the contacts they were going to get their weapons from were corrupt Atlanta police. And avoided, you know, murdering a half-dozen police and setting the scene for the failure of their heist the next day. Or since this movie is set in America, just buying guns legally.
** Doc's supposed to be TheChessmaster when it comes to meticulous planning of his heists but it's clear Bats is too unstable and Doc should've known better to recruit him in the first place. It makes absolutely no sense that Doc would not kill Bats after he robbed the gas station and caused a shootout that killed Doc's police contacts. Continuing with the Post Office robbery after the shootout is also well out of character for Doc.
*** Also, he apparently take the word of Bats as golden for what happened at shoot-out and never attempts to clear things up with the cops, resulting in the whole police department turning on him immediately. Also, he doesn't bother taking any security measures to meet a crew that appears to have just slaughtered his allies for no reason.
** Doc sends Baby into the Post Office to case it prior to the robbery. With a relative of his. Firstly, Doc is the type of guy who wouldn't send the same people in for recon as for the actual robbery, and he wouldn't send in a relative of his. The witness that Baby warned off would have identified both Baby and Doc's young relative, potentially leading police straight to everyone even if they tried leaving straight away.
** Let's be real: the only reason why Baby successfully got away in the opening heist is not because of the convenient red cars he could blend into, but because the police are too stupid to realize that the getaway driver clearly had a plan when he joined two other similarly colored cars just before the helicopter's view of the action is obscured and that they should keep watch on all three cars to make sure the perps didn't escape.
** Doc proves himself to be very good at shooting cops when helping Buddy and Debora to escape. When Buddy comes in, however, he basically let himself be run over him.

** "Soldier Boy", the random gun-packing veteran who just happened to be on the scene of the bank robbery but [[BadassBystander chases and shoots at Eddie, JD, Baby, and Bats]] in his truck. He's far more dangerous to them than any of the cops, and is arguably the biggest threat anyone poses to Baby's driving in the whole movie [[spoiler:next to Buddy.]] Best of all, he survives.
