• Tear Jerker: Ryuko's recollection of Mako. It seems, that despite having known her, she cannot remember her too much.
  • And Satsuki beating Ryuko up in Chapter 6. While she didn't know it was her she was beating up, it's still sad to see Satsuki showing remorse or knowing that she had beaten her up.
  • Ryuko's death before the epilogue and, later on, Satsuki's death. However, they do meet in the afterlife.
