YMMV / Annika (2021)

Go To

  • Genius Bonus: Annika's fourth-wall-breaking side comments each episode include discussion of a work of literature or mythology which she relates to the episode's case. Some of the connections she draws are more oblique than others, but familiarity with the work in question can tip a well-read audience off to upcoming twists in the episode. For example, in 1.5 she talks about Agamemnon sacrificing his daughter Iphigenia to appease Artemis and allow the Greek fleet to sail to Troy. Knowing that this eventually led to Agamemnon's death at the hands of his wife Clytemnestra provides early foreshadowing of the identity of the episode's murderer.
