Awesome Music: The game had Adam Skorupa of The Witcher fame, and it shows.

  • The main theme alone, Hear Our Call, with a strong string part and vocal choir perfectly suits the theme of clashes between pagan warrior groups at their peak, and similarly brutal civilizing Christians.
  • Round-Shielded Invaders has an ominous, whispery chanting that eventually turns to proper chant, all while there's a steady drum beat.
  • Contrary to its name, Morbid Admonition is actually the most straight-up heroic combat track in the game, with comparably light and energetic tones.
  • Meanwhile, Gallows for Traitors is a heavy, pulsing track, full of barely suppressed rage.
  • My Strength Lies in Veles is a sweeping, charged composition, and is arguably the most complex
  • Vengeance of the Easterners uses Bulgarian choir to great effect.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: Squads who cannot retreat, e.g. Viking berserkers, are almost always given Defensive upgrades as they gain veterancy, along with priority in armor upgrades, as other squads can employ tactical retreats while in combat in order to survive and fight another day.
    • In the single-player campaigns, extensively using heroes allows them to gain veterancy, and they always maintain peak performance, unlike squads which become less so with diminished manpower.
