Realizing that he cannot cheer up Molly himself, Scratch goes to find Libby and explains what happened with Molly and Ashley so she can help his friend. He then flies all the way to Ohio, even admitting that's outside his ghostly jurisdiction, to scare the living daylights out of the Harrises for daring to make his best friend cry.
Sharon has no problems with Molly dating Libby, a girl, noting at the end that their relationship was one of the best things that ever happened to her daughter, and to hell with anyone who thought otherwise, like the Harrises. There's no reason to believe Pete McGee, her father, wouldn't feel the same way.
