YMMV: American Pop
- Too Dumb to Live - Benny. You do not put your weapon down in a hostile area just to play the piano.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Tony, the angry young man son of Benny who showed some promise as a songwriter before he got blindsided by a drug addiction. He is such an over the top whiner that it's damn near impossible to feel bad for him at all.
- Vindicated by History - American Pop didn't make its money back when it was released theatrically. It cost $1 million to license the entire soundtrack. The clearance issues made sure that the movie didn't come out on video until 1997. Now it's one of Bakshi's most recognized and acclaimed films.
