• Cult Classic: The show's fanbase is due to the Philippine setting and Christian Kane's performance as Alex.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The presence of an American military base in Cebu is harder to swallow (at least in watching the show) when President Duterte has publicly mentioned that he's leaving the Visiting Forces Agreement and has bitter feelings against the West and prefers to gravitate towards China and Russia. While Duterte has chosen to suspend it, it's still possible for him to revoke the VFA before he leaves office.
