YMMV / Agent Elvis

Go To

  • Awesome Art: The art style of the show has been praised by critics and viewers alike, with many comparing it to a comic book. The fight scenes are also beautifully animated.
  • Awesome Music: The King's own soundtracks will be in this show.
  • Complete Monster: Robert Goulet is a "Tony Award-winning pompous prick" who initially just appears to be Elvis Presley's Sitcom Arch-Nemesis in the world of music, but soon reveals himself to be an egotistical monster who would sell out the entire world out of little more than spite and envy. Once the Number Two of The Central Bureau, Goulet helped oversee their tortuous experiments on Elvis to harness his musical abilities for mind control, only to instead end up with a device that reverted subjects to a primal, murderous state. Betraying TCB to provide the device to Gabriel Wolf, which would lead to the technology being tested at numerous concerts to instigate bloody massacres, Goulet uses the weapon to target several Elvis shows before helping attempt to hijack the global broadcast of the Aloha from Hawaii production. Intent on seeing millions of Elvis fans slaughtered across the world through this act, Goulet proves himself to be exactly the "bag of shit" that Elvis proclaims him to be in his efforts to see his rival's reputation burned to the ground.
  • Genius Bonus: Elvis Presley genuinely lobbied the US government to be made an undercover agent with broad powers so he could go after left-wing elements, even showing up at the White House to make his case. Richard Nixon declined Presley's offer but gifted the singer with a badge that made him an honorary agent. This incident was covered in multiple media, including Elvis And Nixon.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Elvis was a big fan of Captain Marvel. The show premiered the same date as SHAZAM! Fury of the Gods.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Elvis Presley himself, famous rockstar beloved by all, moonlights as a badass, crime-fighting Vigilante Man with a massive body count of crooks and drug dealers left in his wake. Always suave yet ruthless when fighting or interrogating criminals, Elvis is recruited into The Central Bureau to protect the world from greater threats, nonchalantly carving a bloody path to safety and freedom for the unsuspecting innocents of the nation. The King's ingenuity and skills prove to be the saving grace of TCB in countless situations, from preventing Las Vegas from being nuked to stopping Nixon from learning of the organization's existence, even as he works behind the scenes to uncover his forgotten, tortuous past in their employ. Nonetheless dedicated to saving the world even after discovering the dark truth, Elvis prevents Malus and his hated rival Goulet from murdering millions before he sacrifices himself to save his friends' lives, proving once and for all the awesomeness of the King of Rock and Roll as he faces seemingly certain death with nothing but a confident smile.
  • Older Than They Think: This is not the first time Sony has produced a cartoon focusing on a fictionalized version of a real life celebrity. The first was Jackie Chan Adventures, although Jackie Chan was alive (and still is currently) during its run.
