- Demonic Spiders: The Slicer in the Lunatic Fringe game from After Dark 3.0 and 4.0. The fastest enemy in the game and the most difficult one to to defeat. One hit from it and you're pretty much screwed.
- Nightmare Fuel: Some of the reactions made by the Art Critic in After Dark 4.0, particularly when she turns completely red and gives you a Death Glare while a loud guitar riff plays.
- Unintentional Period Piece: If their 256-color graphics, MIDI music, and the fact that these screensavers needed to be paid for weren't enough signs that they were from the early-mid 90s:
- The Simpsons contains zero references to any episode after season 5 (1993-1994).
- Disney contains zero references to any All-CGI Cartoons, Pixar or otherwise, nor does it reference any of the films they made during the later half of The Renaissance Age of Animation.
- The X-Men getting a screensaver pack, and nothing else Marvel, is a product of when its '90s cartoon was the most popular piece of Marvel media, rather than the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- Screensavers which depict a fake desktop act as though the user is still on either Windows 3.1 or Mac OS 7.
