  • Nightmare Fuel: Another thing notable about this game is this.
    • In one of the puzzle mini-games has a scene taking place in a small village. When you complete this puzzle, there are animations from different things on the screen. One of these animations has a fish escape from a restaurant and hide in pond. The chef comes out with a frying pan confused as to where the fish went. Then, the fish suddenly jumps out of the water with razor sharp teeth and bites the chef’s nose causing it to swell like a balloon and pop (no blood.) The chef screams in pain and falls off like a deflated balloon into the background sky and is never seen again. It’s very jarring to see something like that in a children’s game and especially when they show a big dented hole on the chef’s nose as he flys away in the distance.
    • The other puzzles in the puzzle mini-game contain scenes from another Coktel Vision and Sierra Online game, Play Toons 1: Uncle Archibald, which is a point-and-click game similar to Living Books This said game contains a strong amount of Nightmare Fuel due to it’s rather morbid storyline of an ape/donkey/alligator monster killing and eating children with chocolate sauce, shock value, graphically and grotesquely drawn monsters, gross-out humor, uncanny valley, alleged blood in that game’s menu, an overall grungy atmosphere that looks more like a M rated horror game and even JUMP-SCARES! The fact that scenes from such a game were in this game just adds more to the nightmare fuel.
  • Signature Scene: The cooking minigame is, without a doubt, the most iconic part of the game.
  • Unintentional Uncanny Valley:
    • The design of the laughing tree is also quite creepy as it’s perpetually in a laughing face and it’s voice is only heard when you click on it.
    • The fact that almost every object in this game as a face on it.
    • The menu’s customizable player icon where players can change the eyes, hair, nose, ears, mouth, etc. Some of the combinations can be really jarring.
    • The match-the-face mini-game in Adiboo’s room. Like the player customization on the game’s menu. Some of the combinations of facial parts can be really creepy.
