YMMV / Adam (2009)

• Base-Breaking Character: Reviews seem divided between those who see Beth as a sympathetic character, whose struggles while dealing with Adam are fairly sympathetic and those who see her as a terrible girlfriend that didn't do enough to understand him and treated Adam horribly to the point they see Adam not getting together with her as a happy ending.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Many reviews had admitted to not care much about the romantic arc or the other characters but liking Adam, this is particulary present among Aspies viewers who find his treatment by the other characters too cruel.
• Tear Jerker:
  • The portrayal of Asperger's is pretty good, so for some Aspies it can be an eye-opening look at how other people experience them.
  • The "Dumb Adam" scene.
• The Woobie: The film plays up the idea that Adam's life is sad and complicated.
