* CrossesTheLineTwice: One scene involves the inverted Carnage praying for forgiveness by saying "I admit [[BloodKnight I want to murder everyone all the time]] but I'm trying ''super-hard'' not to right now".
** Most of the scenes with Carnage really, mainly because his "heroic" actions are just so comically horrible. For example, he stops a bank robbery by ''burning down the bank before the robbers get there''.

* BrokenBase: Audience reaction is all over the map on this one.
** Some are exasperated by yet ''another'' Hero vs Hero event in the wake of ''ComicBook/{{Civil War|2006}}'' and ''ComicBook/AvengersVsXMen'', and find the Inversions to be contrived for the sake of plot, particularly the idea of how Carnage or Sabretooth could be "redeemed" by the event. Others find the concept intriguing and enjoy the exploration of how such characters come to terms with these pasts, and how the inversions impact their personalities (i.e.: an inverted Genesis becoming full-bore Apocalypse).
** For X-Men fans, many see it as a continuation of ''ComicBook/AvengersVsXMen'', and frequently use Marvel's statements of deliberately curtailing new character creation with the X-Men to deprive Fox of material for their films as a sign that the event is intended to throw the X-Men under a proverbial bus.
** To not mention the announcement of ''another'' Avengers Vs. X-Men (whether it will be something à la ''ComicBook/TheCloneSaga'' "Director's Cut" mini-series or a full-blown second event is not known yet) to happen in 2015 (plus "Secret Wars" and the "Everything Ends" arc in the same year, which people are already thinking will be the 616's version of ''ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths''), which people are putting up as evidence of Marvel pretty much running out of ideas.

** Some are exasperated by yet ''another'' Hero vs Hero event in the wake of ''Comicbook/CivilWar'' and ''Comicbook/AvengersVsXMen'', and find the Inversions to be contrived for the sake of plot, particularly the idea of how Carnage or Sabretooth could be "redeemed" by the event. Others find the concept intriguing and enjoy the exploration of how such characters come to terms with these pasts, and how the inversions impact their personalities (i.e.: an inverted Genesis becoming full-bore Apocalypse).

The subsequent retcon that the twins were never mutants, however, is universally agreed to have been a bad one.]]

* UnexpectedCharacter: The Hobgoblin tie-in features a bunch of obscure characters such as D-Man and Wildstreak as Kinglsey's new proteges. Hell, the first issue even features a new Hindsight Lad of all things.

* FanonDiscontinuity: As far as some fans are concerned, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were not retconned as actually not being the children of Magneto. This seems to be slowly reversing since ''VideoGame/MarvelUltimateAlliance3TheBlackOrder'' has Scarlet Witch explicitly be identified as a mutant (another retcon shortly after the event) and subtle interactions with Magneto have implications that they are still a family.

* FanonDiscontinuity: As far as some fans are concerned, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were not retconned as actually not being the children of Magneto.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Inverted Carnage, whose awful attempts at being a hero are hilarious to look at. Even people that didn't like regular Carnage are fans of him.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: In the ''Avengers World'' tie-in story, Stingray is recruited into Inverted Doctor Doom's Avengers. At first Stingray is partially considered a joke when he tries to offer assistance during a fire despite not really having any abilities that would be useful. Then, he he pulls a TakingTheBullet and shields Valeria from the Inverted Scarlet Witch's blast and manages to withstand it, followed by him diving underwater to save innocent people.
** in the final battle [[spoiler: Deadpool, now a pacifist as a result of the inversion, successfully manages to get through to APOCALYPSE to fight his genocidal desires and help save the world.]]
** Hobgoblin [[spoiler: taking out Goblin Knight by tricking him into impaling himself with his Goblin Glider.]]

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: [[spoiler: The inversion causes SelfDemonstrating/DoctorDoom to realize [[HeelRealization how much of a bastard he's been and how much pain he's caused]]. He than atones by undoing his own MoralEventHorizon; he uses a powerful magick to revive [[ComicBook/AntMan Scott Lang]]'s daughter [[ComicBook/YoungAvengers Cassie]], whom he had personally killed a year or so earlier in ''ComicBook/TheChildrensCrusade''. The narration explicitly notes that he could've used that spell to heal the scarring on his face or destroy the ComicBook/FantasticFour once and for all and that he would probably never get a chance like this again. Doctor Doom just sacrificed his one chance at true happiness in order to save the life of an innocent.]]
** Even better, it's soon after revealed that he took the chance to also [[spoiler: bring back Brother Voodoo]].
** Magneto [[spoiler: becoming a full hero at the end. After all the failed attempts he made in the past to become a good guy, it's wonderful to see him finally succeed, at least for a little bit.]]
** [[SelfDemonstrating/{{Deadpool}} Zenpool]]'s IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight to Evan Sabahnur:

* TearJerker: [[spoiler: Magneto becomes a full hero after seeing Xavier's spirit trying to give him a message. It's heartwarming and beautiful... until Magneto walks away and it turns out that he missed the full message. Xavier was trying to say that Magneto was right all along. Red Onslaught managed to do what no other villain could; he broke Xavier's faith in humanity.]]
** Deadpool's fight with Apocalypse/Evan in Axis #7, especially when Apocalypse begins berating Wade for being involved in the killing of the original kidApocalypse way back in Uncanny X-Force. What makes this especially hard to read is that Wade never agreed with the death of the child and spent most of the series trying to atone for not stopping the kid's death. He always saw the good in Evan, and seeing [[spoiler: Apocalypse rip his head off as a trophy]] is very, very unnerving.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: An inverted Hulk is a good enough idea, but there have been previous versions of the character. This could have easily set the stage for the return of the Devil Hulk or Guilt Hulk, and instead Kluh was invented for the role.
