• Overshadowed by Controversy: One of the biggest points of discussion for their Stardust Crusaders OVAs comes from their angering of Egyptian fundamentalists in 2008 following their discovery that DIO, a non-Muslim, can be seen reading the Koran in one episode. The incident halted circulation of the videos and forced Hirohiko Araki to redraw the original manga to replace mosques that are destroyed throughout the story with secular buildings (i.e. a cell signal tower). Because of how prominent this incident was, both religiously and in the context of JJBA, it's become next-to-impossible to discuss the OVAs without bringing this incident up.
