Go To

Two Scents Worth is a 1955 Looney Tunes short (7 min.) directed by Chuck Jones and starring Pepé Le Pew.

In the village of N'est C'est Pas (Nasty Pass) in the French Alps, a robber catches a black cat named Fifi and paints a white stripe on her back to pass her off as a skunk and clear out the bank so he can rob it. With the job done, he leaves Fifi to fend for herself, thus attracting the unwanted attention of Pepé (where said robber eventually turns himself in for his crimes), leading to the usual chase across the alpine scenery.

This short provides examples of:

  • Animation Bump: Of Pepe's shorts, this is the most notable due to being the most fluently animated one.
  • Finger Gun: While approaching Fifi on skis, Pepé playfully shoots at her with his fingers like a machine gun.
Pepé: Ack-ack-ack-ack! I pierce you with the ack-ack of love, flowerpot.
  • Gratuitous French: As usual for Pepé LePew cartoons. Of special notice is the name of the village, N'est C'est Pas, which is actually the phrase "It is not", but is mistranslated as "Nasty Pass".
  • Prefer Jail to the Protagonist: After the burglar uses Fifi the cat to scare the customers of a bank out so he can rob it, he encounters Pepé, thinking it's Fifi, but by then, he realizes it's not Fifi after smelling Pepé, at which point he races over to the city prison and intentionally imprisons himself.
