I got this.
The Talented Mr. Bixby is a web animation series that lasted throughout 2008. It is about a man who works as a janitor at Shoehorn High School but tries to be everything whenever someone is needed as a substitute. Though he has a big heart he often fails miserably at everything he does. The series was fairly short-lived like all the "Wedgies" Cartoon Network created for the block on the channel at the time.

Tropes in The Amazing Mr. Bixby

  • All Girls Like Ponies: Amy wants to be a horse biologist in "The Substitute Job Counselor".
  • Big Eater: Mr. Bixby always eats a breakfast burrito on his way to work.
  • Butt-Monkey: Mr. Bixby goes through the trouble he causes in most episodes.
  • Character Catchphrase: Mr. Bixby's "I got this."
  • No Ending: In "The Substitute Career Counselor" Mr. Bixby is caught by Wally's dad, who is a police officer since he ran into Dr. Eason on her scooter.
  • Only Sane Man: Mr. Wexley is the only level-headed person at Shoehorn High School and calls Bixby out on being stubborn.
  • Pest Episode: In "The Substitute Bug Man" Bixby gets rid of a cockroach infestation with numerous extermination techniques. The last one is a poison blast, which this time, he fixes, even though he was blinded by bumblebees.
  • Short-Runner: The series only lasted on Cartoon Network's "Wedgies" short anthology.
  • Snipe Hunt: In "The Substitute Shop Teacher" has Bixby substituting for auto shop class. He gives the students an impossible essay, or they can go to the auto parts store and get a jug of blinker fluid. Most of the class dashes out, leaving Mr. Bixby alone with whom he thinks are the smart ones. They aren't. Everyone but the students who strapped rockets to Mr. Bixby's van, anyway. As the students leave the room, they actually pass a sign that says "NOTICE: Blinker Fluid Does Not Exist". They come across an identical sign at the auto parts store and stare blankly at it.
  • Toilet Humor: In "The Substitute Bus Driver" instead of taking the students to the aquarium, he takes them to the sewage treatment plant, despite the obvious signs everywhere they go.
  • Uncanny Valley: When Bixby comes up with Trixie, a girl sock puppet in "The Substitute Job Counselor". She looks rather unsettling, even to Amy who is rather creeped out by it.
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: The state where Shoehorn High School and Shoehorn County are set in was not shown or talked about.
