The Adventures of Abney and Teal is a British children's animated series, made using a mix of 2D animation, stop-motion and CGI, based on the works of writer and illustrator Joel Stewart. It was produced by Anne Wood of Ragdoll Productions, both herself and the studio being of Teletubbies fame. Its two eponymous characters, depicted as ragdolls, embark on adventures on an island in a park, in a lake, in an unnamed city.

Abney is a blue, cat-like creature with a jumper, scarf and trousers, while Teal is a girl with pigtails, a dress and Converse-like shoes. Other regular characters include Neep the anthropomorphic turnip, Bop the furry aquatic creature, the seven wooden, comma-shaped Poc-Pocs and accordion-playing Toby Dog. The series debuted on 26 September 2011.

This show provides examples of:

  • Anthropomorphic Food: Neep is a turnip.
  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: Abney wears no shoes, unlike Teal, who is human.
  • Bouncy Bubbles: In the episode "Sky High," Abney and her friends bounce and play with Bop's blown bubbles.
  • Cartoon Creature: Abney.
  • City with No Name: The city in the background of the island.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Abney and Teal swim and sleep in their clothes. For Teal, this includes her shoes. Possibly justified, because they are rendered like stuffed toys and may have been manufactured that way, even if they are roughly the size of two human children.
  • Living Toys: It may simply be part of the style, but Abney and Teal are rendered like stuffed toys.
  • Medium Blending: Abney and Teal are stop-motion, most of the other characters are CGI and the background is mostly 2D.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Teal isn't the blue member of the titular duo.
  • Pokémon Speak: The only word Neep ever says is his name.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Teal is upbeat and energetic (red oni), while Abney is calm and wise (blue oni).
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Porridge. The titular duo always eat it.
