City Monsters is a Catalan flash-animated cartoon created by CoolBox and Televisió de Catalunya and developed by Iban Roca and Abel Caberizo in 2010.

The series follows the titular group of monster kids known as the City Monsters: A vampire girl named Fangs, A zombie girl named Bonnie, a Frankenstein's monster boy named Frankie, and a werewolf boy named Howl as the four navigate life at a human elementary school and get into various misadventures along the way, all the while trying to retain their image as "civilized monsters."

There are thirteen episodes with each of them being about eight to nine minutes long.

Tropes:

  • The Bully: The Bully Boy, although he does show compassion towards others every now and then.
  • Butt-Monkey: Bonnie usually gets the most slapstick thrown at her out of the four monster kids.
  • Daywalking Vampire: Fangs is able to walk around outside in broad daylight and suffers no ill effects.
  • Fantastic Racism: Pops up from time to time.
  • Granola Girl: Gender inverted with Howell, a vegetarian werewolf who promotes peace instead of violence.
  • Improbably High I.Q.: Frankie is stated to have an IQ of 290.
  • Insufferable Genius: Frankie tends to flaunt his intelligence around, much to the annoyance of those around him.
  • Ironic Fear: Fangs is afraid of blood despite being a vampire, much to her embarrassment. According to her brothers, it runs in her family. Subverted in that Fangs eventually realizes she isn't as afraid of blood as she thought and that her brothers were just messing with her.
  • Jackass Genie: Anyone who makes a deal with the Fairy Godmother almost always gets screwed over in some way for her own personal amusement. You can’t really expect a deal with someone whose contract has a spot that literally says "sucker" next to where you sign your name to end well for you.
  • Limited Animation: The animation is mostly 2D flash other than a few CGI moments with the characters having rather rigid body movements, being somewhat comparable to that of South Park.
  • Only Sane Man: Fangs is usually the voice of reason in any situation, although even she has her moments of irrationality from time to time.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Bonnie always carries her phone around with her and is often using it to record material to use in her blog.
  • Pulling Themselves Together: Bonnie is almost always falling to pieces or at the very least losing her arms.
  • Retractable Appendages: Fangs usually keeps her fangs retracted, with them usually only coming out whenever she's irritated.
  • True Companions: Despite their occasional bickering with each other, the City Monsters are always there for each other in their times of need.
  • Vegetarian Vampire: More like Vegetarian Werewolf, actually. Howl is strictly vegetarian and dislikes the idea of eating any kind of meat.
