The First Human is an Undertale Prequel AlternateUniverse fan-comic set before the events of Undertale. It was created by Brittninja.
Flowey wasn't always a homicidal flower. At first, he was just a lost little kid. Not long after Flowey bloomed in the Underground, the first human, Marine, fell from the surface. After failing to take the human's SOUL, Flowey devises a plan to guide her through the Underground, waiting for the right moment.

This webcomic provides examples of:
- Adaptational Nice Guy: Flowey. Downplayed as he is still a jerk and is nihilistic due to his power to save and reset. Justified as this takes place shortly after Flowey’s creation and thus before he developed any sociopathic tendencies.
- Doomed by Canon: Marine; as she is dead by the time the seventh human falls with her soul (the cyan soul of patience) in Asgore’s possession and her ribbon and toy knife abandoned in the ruins. Flowey’s plan to take Marine’s soul and cross the barrier are also doomed to failure as he hasn’t accomplished that by the time the seventh human falls either.
- Doomed Protagonist: Due to the webcomic being a prequel to Undertale, Marine, bearer of the cyan soul of patience, the (not yet faded) ribbon and toy knife is not likely to survive its conclusion.
- Earthy Barefoot Character: Marine says she likes to take off her shoes when in nature to feel closer to the earth. Deconstructed and lampshaded as due to this she was barefoot when she fell into the underground. Flowey states while she might be fine in the ruins the rest of the underground consist of more extreme terrain and sure enough once she reaches Snowdin she quickly gets cold due to her bare feet being in contact with snow.
- Prequel: This webcomic serves as a OriginsEpisode for the cyan soul of patience and Flowey’s StartOfDarkness for his more sociopathic behaviors.
- Treacherous Advisor: Flowey takes on this role for Marine, promising to help her get through the underground while plotting to steal her soul and uses its power for himself.
