- Cast Full of Gay: Guadalupe, the main character is non-binary, Carolina is bisexual, and Alvar is pansexual. In addition, the Lady is a transgender woman.
- Selfless Wish: Instead of wishing to go back home, Lupe wishes that Alvar wouldn't fear the Dragonfly.
- The Witch Hunter: Alvar's family hunts witches.
- Your Soul Is Mine!: In order to gain more power, witches need to steal other witches bells, which function as souls for them.
