On February 18, 2023, MatPat created the channel "The Style Theorists
", aka Style Theory. The channel focuses on theories pertaining to various fashion elements, ranging from styles of fashion and their influences, typical beauty care routines and whether or not they work, and various fictional designs and whether or not they'd be practical IRL. It serves as the bottom right "Blue" segment of the circle.
On March 6th 2024, MatPat stepped down as the head of the show and Amy Roberts took over on March 21th.
Tropes:
- Improvised Weapon: They found that the heel portion of a high heel made for a devastatingly good one, even providing enough force to crack a skull.
- Purple Is Powerful: MatPat notes the amount of purple dressed villains, noting that a lot of them have powerful status such as The Evil Queen from Snow White and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
- Sickly Green Glow: Mat brings up the toxicity of green dyes as to why the Evil Queen's poison and Maleficent's dragon's fire are such a bright green.
- Shout-Out: When Mat brings up "Tyrian Purple", the original purple dye, he shows a picture of Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones.
