* ButThouMust: By the time of the Super Mario RPG arc, Mario had retired from rescuing Toadstool (tired from her apparently being an UngratefulBitch but she was actually dating Bowser and so the rescues [[StarCrossedLovers were keeping them apart]]). When he tells this to the Mushroom King, the King's response is to ''draft him'' into do it.

* MesACrowd: Following the Ocarina of Time arc, this has happend with Link, who [[HarmlessFreezing thawed himself out]] from the bottom of Lake Hylia early in both the "future" and "present" times. The Link that's been around the whole time is now Blue Link (wearing the Zora Tunic), the "future" link is Red Link (wearing the Goron Tunic), and "present" link is Green Link (still in original tunic). Later, Zelda decides to try her hand at adventuring and commissions a combination of the Zora and Goron Tunics, resulting in her becoming the Purple "Link."
